Fairway Subaru Next Meet Suggestions!

025-small

Well I got the thinking if we don’t meet at the importnationals place what are some things everyone would like to see at the next meet? besides a 20g give away lol.

So far I have:
1. Inside gathering place for the cooling off
2. name tags with our forum screenname on them, so we actually know who people are

I have to go by sometime next week to talk to jan and daniel so I’ll give them some suggestions. The idea is a big swap meet of any cars…… then this could become a “big” once or twice a year thing then regular subie meets other times.

update: 4/28/2009 – Went by and we think we solved the issue with cooling off, jan said we could use the service area and that end of the store. I talked about some other stuff with Daniel and Jan and I guess the next thing is dates, do we do a meet or a meet ride, or a swap meet. I’d still like to see what other cars we could get to come.

Proposed dates:
July 18th

Quote:
Removed July 25th because its on a auto x weekend

August 1st
August 8th

I know these dates are usually really hot outside so another thing would be should we meet earlier in the day? I don’t think people would show up if the meet started at 9am lol but figured I’d throw it out there. So with all that said lets hear what ya’ll think. I’m up for opening the event up for all cars, might beat the record again

Finally The Next Office will come in 32-bit, 64-bit versions

Microsoft on Tuesday confirmed that the next version of Office, code-named Office 14, will come in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

The 64-bit version is a first for both Office and for Microsoft’s mainstream desktop applications, though a number of its server products, such as SQL Server, are already available in 64-bit versions.

Office 14, which is expected to be called Office 2010, is slated to ship next year. Among its other notable features is the fact that Microsoft will offer browser-based versions of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OneNote, in addition to the traditional Windows-based desktop programs.

By extending the browser support to Firefox and Safari, in addition to Internet Explorer, Microsoft has said it will have the effect of also bringing Office to the iPhone and to Linux-based computers for the first time.

The existence of the 32-bit and 64-bit versions was noted on Tuesday by Ars Technica and in March by ZDNet blogger Ed Bott.

Software designed for a 32-bit processor can still run on a 64-bit machine, but likely, the 64-bit version of Office will have some performance advantages over its 32-bit sibling when running on a 64-bit machine.

Computers with 64-bit processors have been shipping for years, but it is only in the last year or so that most new PCs have started to be sold with a 64-bit operating system–required for running a 64-bit application.

While most desktop applications still run only in 32-bit mode, the server side has switched over more quickly. Some of Microsoft’s server products, such as Exchange 2007 the upcoming Windows Server 2008 R2, come only in the 64-bit variety.

The big selling point of 64-bit software is its ability to directly accommodate more than 4GB of physical memory.

Abandoned Place – Springhill School, Summerton SC

Well we were out for a drive in the subaru for a little off road action since finally getting everything fixed.  We stumbled upon this old school that was built quite some time ago but its last day of service was the 1991-1992 school year.  It since has been left abandoned and while walking though it we noticed someone has gone in and ripped out all the copper wiring and every radiators from the classrooms.

Fairway Subaru Meet 4-4-2009 Pictures

Link to the meet gallery can be found here.

The photo’s are watermarked but if you would like a non-watermarked copy then just send me a PM and I’ll get you a link to one. Only done this so they don’t end up on a poster. The turn out went great in my book and we had about 50+ total cars (including the hondas, nissans, pickups & 1 vw (hehe greg). I know I didn’t get a picture of every car and I apologize about that but I stayed on the move the whole time and came home and realized I had 2 drinks and a hotdog and was quite dehydrated lol.

If anyone would like me to put a name to the photos in the gallery just shoot me a pm and I’ll change it. I was so glad that we actually had some nice weather (little hot) but I think it turned out great and just wanted to thank the people that made it possible so I’ll list a few here

Fairway Subaru – For the great food, drinks, music, and moving the cars around so we could have what we needed. Special thanks to Jan and Daniel for helping getting everything ready!
Subaru of America – For the great swag we gave away.
BFG (Rubberman) – For bringing some stuff to give away… minus the rally book that got picked up but recovered.
Dell Computer Corporation – For sending the Dell All in one printer.

Woo Hoo were listed on FairwaySubaru.net also now :)

Adventures of Mr. Bill (and intel man)

mrbill-pic

Well this all started out as a joke with my wifes best friend when I saw Mr. Bill forsale in a local toy store and mention thats cool but i’m not spending 8 bux on that.  We left and went into another store and the best friend hands me a bag (which I thought was to carry) and she said no dummy open it.  She bought me Mr. Bill so I started taking pictures of my adventures with Mr. Bill at work, home, and out and about.  Check back often as he goes though some weird stuff, we won’t mention the vegas incident but if you click on my gallery link on the left or here you can see the pictures.
