1st attempt at a rolling shot

I was stationary and thought i'd try to capture a few shots of a subaru that drove by, Not too bad for my first attempt but I know i can do better.  I am using a Canon 60D with the kit lens.  (No $$ to get the 50mm 1.4 or 1.8).  I set my dial to TV (shutter priority) and turned the dial down to about 60 as my base.  I then tweaked it slower and faster to try a few captures.  I do not have any other camera gear except my Manfrotto tripod of which i didn't use.  No camera rigs

Here is the original shot:

CUICAR Car Show November 2011

The car show was smaller than usual but still had a variety of cars, I snapped a few pictures…. I missed several cars because I wasn’t motivated very much with other things going on.

Subaru Legacy GT Cubby Pod

I have been wanting a cubby pod for my legacy gt for a while now so I can easily hid the gauges and ipod connector since people have broken into my car before.  So here it goes.

Materials:

1. 1x Small sheet of plastic from home depot. & poster board
2. Dremel tool
3. Some Paint, Glue to bond the 2 pieces together.

First I started out with some white poster board and made the template, after I did this I transferred it over to the plastic and then cut it out and glued it together.  Sorry no more diy than that because I was rushed to get ready for race day but I will do a proper diy.

CUICAR Showcase October 2011

This is the 4th event that they have had at the Clemson CUICAR campus and it was a chilly morning but the sun came out and it was beautiful.  There were a good number of cars from various generations of automotive history.  Very beautiful cars if you ask me, I took some pictures but for anyone that I didn't get their picture sorry, not feeling up to par and needed to go and get some food but next time I shall get pics!  Some of my favorites was the Ariel atom, and seeing the mustang and camaro with the old school 8 track tape decks.  It was cool to see willy nelson and the beach boys in the old 8-tracks.  Every car was simply awesome to look at and I wanted to thank everyone for showing up and maybe next time we can have it even bigger

Motosports on Main

Last weekend we attended the Motorsports on Main, this is it's second year doing this event and they bring out all the lemons cars before going down to Road Atlanta for the big race.  After seeing the cars from last year (pictures here), i believe that there were more cars last year but it appeared bigger this year and we loved it.  I can't wait to go down to Road Atlanta to watch the race one year but for now here are some pictures from the event. (Full Album Here)  Thank you Michelin for putting on this event and bringing another awesome thing for us to do downtown!!  It is what keeps greenville, sc a truly wonderful town to live in.

Windows 8 Developer Preview

Finally it is out, some may have already downloaded this but I feel this will be the IPAD killer if they don’t screw things up.  I have installed Windows 8 on my home laptop and even in early stages it is very stable, to the point I actually use it all the time now.

Here is the link to download: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/br229516

Just keep in mind of the system requirements:

System Requirements

The Windows 8 Developer Preview works great on the same hardware that powers Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
  • Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch
  • To run Metro style Apps, you need a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 or greater

Visiting Tawcaw, Santee, Summerton, South Carolina

Went back to visit family and took my new Canon 60d out to take a few photos, I have alot in the album here but thought i'd post some highlights.  The area was so beautiful and we were trying our best to look for any gators and other wild life and just as we were about to give up it seems they all came out.  I don't have a decent picture of the gator (darn lens didn't quite reach)  but I love how some of the others came out.

Subaru Showdown @ Carolina Motorsports Park

We got a late start to the day so I ended up missing the first half of the morning racers and it is a 2 day event but I choose to only go out on Saturday due to the cost of hotels and other expenses I didn't want to incur lol.  I signed up for my track day in September and need to save every $$ possible because I still need a good bit of stuff to prep the car.  Anywho thats enough about me, here are some of the event pictures and you can visit the rest here

Here are some highlights:

Demo of Windows 8 at D9 conference

This should be pretty awesome, i have installed and played with the leaked versions and as long as ms doesn’t mess it up they should have a good os.

Microsoft’s Windows chief, Steven Sinofsky, is due to appear at the upcoming D9 conference.

The software giant confirmed Sinofsky’s appearance on Monday. Sinofsky will appear at All Things Digital D9 conference. A source, familiar with Microsoft’s plans, has informed WinRumors that Microsoft is planning to demo its Windows 8 Tablet UI at D9. Microsoft has a habit of introducing new technologies at the Wall Street Journal’s D: All Things Digital Conference, which will run from May 31 to June 2 this year. Bill Gates introduced Microsoft’s Surface computer in 2007 and the company demonstrated Windows 7 multitouch in 2008. Microsoft will show a “technology preview” of its Windows 8 Tablet experience at the conference next week.
